What I've Learned

What I've Learned

A Poem by DriDri

I know rain drop formations,
that raindrops don't fall from the sky,
but usually from the shape of an oval.

I know how to reach difficult places,
to be squeezed into places I don't fit,
to be broken into pieces, and loosely
placed back together.

I know yesterday,
is the day before tomorrow,
and tomorrow is an illusion
that I may or may not see.

I know that we all suffer,
and the basis of all human suffering,
is the monsterous reality of deception.

I know that a line existing of hate,
is often colored with hues of skin,
and shades of people.

I know that we all get lonely,
and loneliness gets confused with longing,
and longing can be confused with love.

I know that you can be,
more than one person at
one time, anyone can be driven
to insanity.

I know that insanity sometimes,
comes from coping, which is also
another way of saying,
"No one understands me"

I know prayer is speaking
things into existence, and
vibration is how sound travels.

I know that people sometimes
say things they don't mean,
I also know we don't always mean the
things we say, but more often the way we say it,
is more important.

I know that I don't know much,
outside of what I know.
Outside of what I know, everything else
is unknown.

I really like your style of writing. In your profile you say that you are a young poet. For being young, you have a grasp on the realities of life and what it takes to get through. You have what some would call an old soul, which I think makes a young person very special in ways most people would never understand. I say this because my youngest child (19) has an old soul, and he is unlike any other person, young or old, that I have ever known. I am a very lucky mom, and I would say yours is too.
