MIRROR

MIRROR

A Poem by Dryford Chimutu
"

In this poem the speaker’s narrative serves as a mirror to help the listener reflect on their own character or personality.

"
We are little honored
While our gallantry and resolve
Wonder and ebb away
Into the abyss of laze and void;
But..., rather, whilst the tide grows;
Heading for the lido.
And absolutely
It is during our prime;
Whilst there is sap yet to chew;
That we all outstrip.
Else, we are just too ornate:
For on ogling into the mirror
Do the facial facets
As seen deep into the speculum
Not evince the pufferies of our pride?
