A Rose in Winter

A Rose in Winter

A Poem by Twelve Steps to Zero
"

Inspired by a harsh winter spend at an altitude of 3000 feet, and a single flower that called out to the poet in me. An ode to beauty that can be found anywhere, anytime, as long as you look for it.

"
Like blood amidst the snow,
A single rose bloomed,
And cast a fiery glow

On the frozen earth
And the frosty leaves
And it gave birth -

To hope within all Men.
That Summer may go; harsh Winter come
But beauty on Earth shall always remain.

Thank you very much :)
Nicely done! Powerful imagery within your verses. Within every aspect of life (or death) there is beauty.

Thank you for your kind review :) May the beauty - rather our ability to perceive it - never die!
