Hot Spell

Hot Spell

A Poem by Daniel Eaves
"

Heat

A desert afternoon

Dogs baked flat in the yards

The mirage Shangri-La

Condensation on jars

Think it's short? I was originally going to go with just the first two lines.

It is great: little bullets of lines that shoot straight to our hearts with their pictures. This is the brevity and eloquence that is poetry. It doesn't have to rhyme, it doesn't have to be long, it doesn't have to be filled with arcane rubbish of silly words no one uses. It has to SING. Yours SUNG.
