Envy

Envy

A Poem by Sarah Jane

As I read your words

An envy grows deep within me

You see him everyday

I'm left with memories

You feel his touch, his warmth

I must remember the feeling

You'll watch him handsomely grow

To me he'll always be eight years old

Until I see him again

But by then, he won't know me

I'll have missed the important years

But you?

You'll be there every step of the way

So I swallow my tears

And just hope he is happy

Ow, this is bitter and full of anger, yet at the same time you write with a consumed section of your mind that is and will stay composed.

This is so painful. I envy a lot of people and that envy can tell like a hot knife in me.
