Hued Hallucinations

Hued Hallucinations

A Poem by Sarah Jane

Hand to breast, Hand to womb
Slips of reality, slips of another

Purple feels heavy, suffocating
Yellow, my calm and steady
Blue, a cascading ribbons of release
Green rests solid, unmoving
Pink dapples weary with weightlessness
Grey's cool tendrils pull, akin to gravity

I fall into dreams of dying
Where I'm acutely aware that I cannot.
Of visions so vivid I awake to illusions

Hand to breast, Hand to womb, I am stilled
