Want to Hear a Story?

Want to Hear a Story?

A Poem by Sarah Jane

From my warmed and ribbed blanket
In a room with three walls and a curtain
My senses are dimmed, all but hearing
And I heard everything

"Pink slips and feces, I was kicked out
But the government lies all the time.
I'm not crazy, I swear. I know you don't care
But I promise I'm a political prophet."

"I'm hungry now, where is the food?"
"Please sir, we have already called."
"But I'm hungry now, wheres the food?"
"Please sir, go back to your room."

"I am eighteen and I control me.
No, I'm okay, I don't need to be locked up.
Suicide and anger doesn't make me crazy,
I'll be back, I have to use the restroom."
