A Poem by Sarah Jane

Smeared with rage, he glares at me
Through his teeth, he sneers
I hesitate when I fall
And I feel absolutely nothing
             ~~~~~
With a hint of reluctance, he takes me
Through the chaos, we connect
I hesitate only long enough
To bask in the intimacy
             ~~~~~
From lips of honey, he grins at me
Though strangers, he dabbles
I hesitate to think
What he will think of me
             ~~~~~
Small in stature, he waves at me
Through the glass, he smiles
I hesitate to drive away
Just to etch him into memory
             ~~~~~
Wrapped in regret, she searches me
At my silence, she stares
I hesitate only to realize
That I feel absolutely nothing
