Landscapes LostA Poem by John ButlerHeartbreak takes it toll as love moves on. All is fair in love and war..is it?
Landscapes lost as time evolves
Continents drift apart over millennia Nature nurtures constant change Change, it nurtured you Hearts are countries unexplored Fearless, I set out Risking all that I possessed! Ascending the summits of emotion Men have conquered countries As battle hardened lives were lost Battle hardened hearts would fall! Assailing your defences . Yet I was not your victor Vanquished in the fog of love Other men would set their sights Claim their right to win fair hand You and I would drift apart Change, it nurtured you Continents drift apart over millenia Fragmented hearts are much the same! © 2015 John Butler |
