Eureka! Erased

Eureka! Erased

A Poem by John Butler
"

A young scientist invents an incredible device which taps his brain into the collective minds of the whole planet with disastrous consequences!

"
Frequency modulator
Tuned in , transmission receiver
Who would ever know?
Your brief discovery
Eureka ! erased

Avant-garde experimenter
Brilliant young scientist
Courage of the curious
Unknown frontiers of
The hungry mind

Who would ever know?
We were not witness to
Your shrieking scream
As for one synaptic second
A molecular lifetime

Your brain locked into
The collective consciousness
Of all of humanity
Cerebral receiver
Synaptic overload

Every emotion
Every thought
Pulsing through every brain
In mankind
Flooded unfiltered through your
Grey matter
Neuron Nebula

Bursting the dendritic dams
Of your solitary mind
Every angst
Every joy
Funnelled through
One persons cerebrum

Anger,shame,malice,worry ,
Pain,fear,happinessl,love
Of every living soul
All became yours
Perilous ratio
The tortured mind
Personified

Who would ever know
Your final moments
Your great discovery?

Autopsy inconclusive
Your grey matter now
Scorched
A malodorous black
Coroner's remarks
Death by misadventure

Avant-garde experimenter
Tuned out!
