Birthday Happy Epiphany after Christ-masA Poem by DMurrellWinter solstice came and went A living haiku is this day’s light As the 12 days of Christmas progress (unknown to most is this lost tradition) Towards another epiphany, January 6, 2012 We too live out poetry existential Epiphanies minor and major I reckon With whatever inbetween (….) Babies grow up, hair gets grey, toe nails ache Yet, On winter solstice Before American history recorded short cold days and long cold night Cliff dwellers offered up prayers rather than Running around like chiken little who might have thought the Sun was going away into forever gone-ness, Darkness and cold and nothing but death without light… “The sun is going, the Sun is going away forever!!” Cheers! My fellow contemporary Americans!! As the days get longer, The sun has returned, with ancient Anasazi traditional prayers (in the spirit world, I reckon) Or something. © 2012 DMurrell |
