"What is?"

"What is?"

A Poem by Dylan Macadham
"

a Poem in 12 lines

"

“How do we find happiness?”

“That’s not the right question.”

“Okay, smartass,

What is?”

 “That’s it!”

“That’s what?”

“The right question.”

“The right question is ‘What is?’

“Yes, it’s where we start.”

“I don’t understand.”

“We can’t start with

‘What isn’t.’”

What is happiness? That is such a personal question. Foe each one of us the answer will be different. Happiness for my other half is watching his beloved football team Liverpool, especially if they win. It is also enjoying a decent brandy with a cup of extra strong black coffee. It is tinkering with the engine of our boat. None of that is happiness for me :) However I know how happy stuff like that makes him. Now my idea of happiness is pottering about in my garden, holidaying in Brixham, taking my grandkids out and spoiling them. Oh, and of course writing poetry, can make me feel happy. What I do know about happiness, is that it has nothing to do with money. So what makes you happy Dylan?

Perhaps my marijuana & coffee consumption have been a wee bit too light this morning, in order for me to sink my few remaining molars into this pile of malarky *wink! wink!*
