Prattle

Prattle

A Poem by Dylan Macadham
"

a Verse in 12 lines

"

small talk,

“Crazy weather, huh?

How ‘bout them Cubs?

Seen any good movies lately?”

It ain’t so small,

‘cause it

binds our ties,

fills the gaps,

 an’greases our wheels,

 ‘til prattle,

from an endless small,

springs Large.

I've never been one to engage in small talk, but lots of people need it to grease the wheels of being sociable. You do a great job of illustrating exactly what you are writing about, by SHOWING instead of telling (((HUGS)))

It's kinda funny how we always feel like small talk is sorta silly and can feel boring and pointless sometimes and pointless but it does serve a purpose. Talk to someone long enough you might just end up with a friend, at least that's what seems to happen when my grandmother gets going, haha. I enjoyed it anyway.

Hey Dylan, we sure could use some winsome delight around here. I must admit, I wasn't familiar with the "prattle" reference, but now I know. Go figure, you learn something everyday. Thanks! ; )
