A Mini-Play: Failure's Comfort

Jack: “What if life isn’t about the Journey?”

Jill: “What are you saying, Jack?”

Jack: “What if it’s not about learning and growing?”

Jill: “Alright …what if it’s not?”

Jack: “Then it would have to be about something else, right?”

Jill: “Okay ...such as?”

Jack: “Such as failures, always pulling us back to where we started.

Jill: “What would be the point of that?!”

.   .   .

Jack: “Maybe that’s the point, that there is no point.”

Jill: “Then why do we all think it’s all about the Journey, about learning from our failures, about dusting ourselves off and getting back up on the horse?”

Jack: “Maybe we all don’t. Maybe we need to. Maybe there's comfort in failure.”
