Mini-Play: MoneyPitA Stage Play by Dylan Macadham3-Act Play in 12 LinesSighing, Jack says. “Cars. Repairs, gas, they’re a never-ending money pit!” “Your
old beater sure is, pal,”Jill
says. “My new Beemer, she ain’t.” Jack: “New
cars are pre-pitted. You drop 10% off
your purchase price the moment you drive it off the lot, and an additional ten in the
first year.” Jill: “Better
to be peace-of-mindedly pre-pitted, than never-endingly.” . . . Jack: “Better to be fun-wheeling in a ’69 Collector Jeep Grand wood-grain paneled Wagoneer than in a
stamped-out little Statusmobile.” Jill: “You
mean, fun-wheeling in between pit stops, don’t’ya?” Jack
smiles. “Droll, pal, but there’s
nothing like the solid feeling of a real
automobile.” Jill: “Unless
of course it’s the smooth, quiet cruising of a gas-light Beemer.” . . . Jack: “A
man likes to know he has an engine beneath him.” Jill: “Ah,
yes, there’s nothing like the grumbling rumbling pit-pit-pit of a man’s motor.” . . . © 2021 Dylan Macadham |
