Jack: “I have a Born-Again buddy who drives me crazy.”

Jill: “Always trying to convert you, huh?”

Jack: “Yeah, and if I hear another Praise the Lord! I’m gonna bonk him!”

Jill: “Ever ask him hard-hitting questions to test his faith?”

.   .   .

Jack: “I asked, If God’s so good, how come he allows monstrous tragedies like Sandy Hook?”

Jill: “Let me guess. He said, The Lord works in mysterious ways.”

Jack: “Yes! And How convenient, huh? It’s their answer to every zinger.”

Jill: “Did you ever ask him, Why?”

.   .   .

Jack:Why does He work in mysterious ways?” He scratches his head.Never occurred to me.”

Jill: “I once asked my born-again uncle that.”

Jack: “What did he say? … Pass the potatoes, please?”

Jill: She chuckles. “He stared at me like a deer caught in the headlights.”
