Jack: “What’s your pet peeve?”

Jill: “People who reply to emails with phone calls.”

Jack: “Yeah, I know what you mean.”

Jill: “You do?”

.   .   .

Jack: “Sure. The whole reason I send emails is to avoid phone calls.”

Jill: “Me too! I thought I was the only one.”

Jack: “No, there are others. Folks who suffer with PA, Phone Anxiety.”

Jill: “Wow, there’s even a name for it, huh?”

.   .   .

Jack: “Yeah. In my case, it’s fear that I’ll make a real-time gaff.”

Jill: “I feel the same way. With emails you can Backspace out gaffs before you press Send.”

Jack: “Oh, damn, there’s someone at my door. Gotta ring off now, Jennifer.”

Jill: “My name’s Jill, jerk!” She hangs up.
