Jill: “My friend Charlotte and I went to a co-worker’s funeral Saturday.”

Jack: “Oh, I’m so sorry. Were you close?”

Jill: “I couldn’t stand Dagmar, nobody could. She made Cruella De Vil look like Pollyanna.”

Jack: “What did she die of?”

.   .   .

Jill: “Suicide. Self-loathing, is my theory. I doubt she could even stand herself.”

Jack: “Why did you and Charlotte go to her funeral, feeling as you did?”

Jill: “Curiosity. To see if anyone had the real scoop on why she did it.”

Jack: “Did anyone?”

.   .   .

Jill: “No, but Murf in Sales came up with the best take on it.”

Jack: “What did Murf say?”

Jill: “Because, wherever she went, she was there.”

Jack: “Methinks Murf in Sales knows how to sell a line.”
