Memories PassedA Poem by DL ShacklefordWe strode along the shore; Sharing, Plotting, Laughing. I swam in unfamiliar fervor; A girl with fledgling desires.
We stayed up late at night; Worrying, Tearing, Comforting. I slept wrapped in confusion; A girl beside her confidant.
We hid under picnic tables; Whispering, Smirking, Falling. I evaded that seductive fruit; A girl clinging to innocence.
We said farewell in summer; Forsaking, Consoling, Embracing. I mutely perished that season; A girl longing to blossom. © 2013 DL ShacklefordReviews
