Unbreakable Me

Unbreakable Me

A Poem by DKLaw

There's a piece of me you never knew
A small piece, yet the most significant
You took and took, and I gave
And I still kept it somehow
It's the flow of my blood, through my veins
That runs from my heart
The thoughts in my head
You never bothered with from the start
Your touch like vinegar, made me sour
Your words like venom
Spread like death's inevitable hour
I'm not ashamed of me
The me that you didn't take
That's the woman you never, ever
Could break

A fine tribute to your strength of character, the sentiment is very touching and raw, a beautifully expressed poem!

I enjoyed the poem. The words felt real and honest. I have three daughters and six sisters. I know woman are strong and can be dangerous. I like the closing lines. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
