The Monster in My ClosetA Poem by Dj GoldenOh the things that kids think of.Sleeping in bed, This child does not hear Of the blows to the head, Of his parents most dear. Dreaming of schemes, His parents now out. Never again their screams To, “Eat your sauerkraut!” Squishing a roach, He rolls next to Bear. A demon’s approach Companioned with a glare. With a loud thud, The boy is awake, To behold his bud Holding a bloody rake. “Did you smash them?” Wonders the lil’ boy. “I just cut out their stems,” Replies the monstrous Monster lies down, Tossing aside Bear, The lil’ boy rolls around A demon pets his hair.
