I use to always think that every breath I'd take

Was just more proof of my parents mistake.

Wandering lost cause I never could see

That all I ever wanted was staring back at me.

Anger and hate would rule the rest

But never let me be at my best.

That all changed when I met you

I learned to open up and let people through.

Walls all around that I built so high

Fell to the ground and there they lie.

I look at the past to see what I've been

But I like things now much better than then.

I may not know where to go from here

But I know it's much better with you near.

Now I found a life and I'm doing okay

Cause I have a lovely treasure and you keep the pain away.

So thank you Sunshine for showing me the light

And keeping me away from perpetual night.
