A Friend, A Secret

A Friend, A Secret

A Chapter by Jennifer
"

Jeremy and Jennebell are twins. What about Kathryn?

"

I woke up and went in front of my house and it was so ironic because it was just across mine. We walked to school together and I could feel thousands of stares to us. It was probably because of the incident with Jeremy. Wow, when it comes to a rumor about someone getting burned and having no scar it really spreads fast doesn’t it?

         “Well, duh” Jeremy thought.

Also, I found out that the voice in my head was Jeremy and he could hear my voice too and that made me scared and kept thinking about all the things I said in my head and he was too when I told him about it. Then we looked at each other and started to laugh. But I still don’t know how we got this ability to speak through our minds.

          “Oh do you uh… Possibly…. Don’t think I’m weird if I asked but Uh…” I mumbled.

          He quickly replied, “Element control”

I stared at him for 3 seconds wondering how he knew what I was going to say and he just said “Just Guessed”. I guess I have a confused look when I looked at him.

“Uh you know water, fire, wind, earth.”

          I just nodded my head.

I saw someone stare and say in their mind

          “No way! Are they dating?”

I snorted after hearing that. Like gross! He’s my TWIN BRUZZUH! Kathryn ran over pulls me away from Jeremy and whispers.

          “What are you doing?!”

“What’s wrong with hangin’ out with Jeremy? Oh yeah, hey guess what.” She stared and I said excitedly “He’s my twin brother!”

“ What?! What is your last name? And wait… He actually talked? And to you?”

“Yeah. Oh and my last name’s Scarlet”

She ran over to Jeremy with an astonished face and asked about his last name and he said Scarlet and glared at me saying,

          “Why did you tell her?”

I laughed and ran away to class. Kathryn was in her seat looking like she heard that the world was ending and was not listening in class. Also, she was spacing out (which was rare of her). When we made eye contact she looked at me and dropped her chin. She is a strange child.

“Jeeze you really had to tell her? She’s starting to give me weird looks!” grumbled Jeremy.

“Man, calm down she’s my friend no worries!” I thought to him, not understanding his worries, “I’ll even tell her to not say a single thing about us. Why are you so worried? I mean we’re just siblings and I never knew about you. And I personally don’t know why she’s freaking out like this.”

I looked over to Kathryn and read her mind just so she doesn’t do anything my dear brother will freak out about.

“Oh no! What am I going to say to Leader about the twins?”

Huh? I thought. Leader? As in twins is she referring to Jeremy and me? What does she have to do with this? Not much later I found all the answers to my questions. Something just so unexpected had to come.

As I was walking back home with Jeremy I saw Kathryn. I needed to ask her about the leader situation. But wait… I can’t. If I ask her about the Leader then she’ll think of me suspiciously.

“Are you alright?” Jeremy asked worriedly.

“Huh?” I jumped because of his sudden appearance, “Oh sorry. Just in deep thought”

          “Why?”

So I told Jeremy about what I heard.

He gave me a weird expression as if he didn’t understand a word I said so I just said that we could just go home. When I came in my house I saw the most unexpected person there. Kathryn was talking to… my dad. But the thing I thought was the weirdest was that there was an unknown woman next to him.
