I Feel Like Chicken TonightA Story by Dylan I. CreeA short story of my childhood
My mother loves to tell people this story about me and my sister when she was eight and I was five. We were in the grocery store, it was a Sunday, and my family was walking around the aisles. My mother asked us what we wanted for dinner and my sister and I broke out into song. We put our hands under our arms and flapped them like chickens and sang, " I feel like chicken tonight!" This was from the KFC commercial we had just watched on TV. She says the entire aisle was cracking up. It made everyone smile and thinking back it makes me smile too. I remember it somewhat but not prominently. I do always laugh when she tell it though. It makes me think about the times where me and my family actually felt whole.
