Conversation

Conversation

A Poem by David
"

This is my view of God. I don't see him/her as someone we go to like a genie, but more as someone who's given us all the tools needed. It's your choice how to use them.

"
God, you and i have never had a conversation, something that goes back and forth,
Yet I've never longed for patience, so it's never been something I had to force..

Your voice has never filled my ears in the traditional way,
So I've colored the words in with the things I pretend you'd say..

I've never seen two prints in the sand, yours and mine,
But with a steady curiosity to understand, I explore the climb..

Son, sit and listen, there's no point in trying to explain this in cliches,
As a vision it's not that I ignore the pin when he/she prays..

Trust me, it's that the answers and abilities were long apparent,
At the birth of a man's hurt, he was filled by me the parent..

Every child of mine has a potential that's bitter sweet,
To build or destroy in time, I don't restrict your feats..

I gave you all the same tools, regardless of religious faith or text,
Study all that I explain to you, and please remain ambitious to face what's next..
