The Terror

The Terror

A Poem by DEAN FARNELL

The terror was unbearable
I was shaking with fear.
I knew that it was coming
The time was drawing near.

I braced myself to take
The blow upon my chin.
A few more days to go
Till the terror would begin.

My legs will turn to jelly
Its not within my power.
One more day to go
I'm watching every Hour.

My last night was restless
Tomorrow is the time.
The terror will have started
My life will not be mine.

Sleeping's not an option
Nightmares take it's place.
My feelings are so selfish
It's truly a disgrace.

The terror came right on time
Like every single summer
The Kids have 6 weeks holidays
When my life becomes a bummer.
