The Devil's BridgeA Poem by DEAN FARNELLThe Devils Bridge really exists and this is a true tale.Devil's bridge was hell of a height Where we used get our kicks The thrill of the fright, saw us right In the days when we were kids. The bridge was high it still exists Where the kids will never learn I must have been mad and I'm now sad That my footing was not firm. To walk the wall was a gamble Where that devil always waits I won't slip It was worth the risk To be a hero to my mates. As i fell from the bridge i saw the looks Of their faces as i fell I felt on my neck the devils breath As he chased me into hell. These facts are true but a lie i tell I was scared and used the rail My mates were cruel but I kept my cool So I'd be here to tell this tale. © 2012 DEAN FARNELL |
