WHEN I MEET THE DEVIL

WHEN I MEET THE DEVIL

A Poem by DEAN FARNELL

THE DEVIL

IF I EVER MEET UP WITH THE DEVIL THIS IS WHAT I'D SAY
CAN YOU GIVE US BACK DIANA WE NEED HER HERE TODAY
WHEN I NEXT MEET UP WITH THE DEVIL I WILL SAY TO HIM
WHY DID YOU HAVE TO TAKE AWAY ELVIS HE'D UNSUNG SONGS TO SING.

WHEN I'M FACE TO FACE WITH THE DEVIL I WILL ASK HIM WHY
WHY HE HAD TO TAKE MY GRANDDAD BEFORE WE SAID GOODBYE
WHEN MY TIME HAS COME WITH THE DEVIL I WILL BE SO BOLD
TO ASK HIM FOR SOME REASONS BEFORE MY BODY LIES COLD.

WHY DID YOU HAVE TO TAKE AWAY ELVIS?
DO I REALLY NEED TO SAY THIS
WHY DID YOU HAVE TO TAKE DIANA?
WE ALL REALLY DO MISS HER.

WHY DID YOU HAVE TO TAKE MY GRANDDAD
SINCE EVERYDAY IV'E FELT SO SAD
SO CAN YOU PUT YOUR HELL AWAY
THAT'S ALL I HAVE TO SAY.
