Old Sparky

Old Sparky

A Poem by DEAN FARNELL

The time went fast, just two years
Today I'd face my greatest fears
I'd heard the screams of hardened men
I'm blessed I won't hear them again
The night go's slow without a clock
The guards awake me with a shock
They wish me luck and all the best
Just like they did with all the rest
Serves me right I had to die
My crime was only eye for eye
The long walk though the corridor
Seems much shorter than before
The chair was hard but very warm
Dead on my feet, I felt forlorn
The last I knew was a burning smell
A switch Is pulled, welcome hell
