The Curse

The Curse

A Poem by DEAN FARNELL

I Opened doors for ladies, gents
The posh and even skanks
I waited for acknowledgement
No nods or even thanks

Please and thank you's banished
Just words from an age gone bye
Suspicion, fear and danger
Are the reasons why

Smilings changed to sneering
And trust does not exist
Neighbours now all strangers
Who never want to mix

The future Is distressing
It's likely to get worst
Life on earth Is changing
How can we break the curse

Interesting poem and thoughts. I don't think people change and I believe that most people are good people, but you are right about the cause of why it seems to be the other way. Everybody is scared of everybody, best not get too friendly or else they'll sneak attack and destroy you. There is no trust in not knowing exactly who you are talking to anymore.
