Trick Or Treat

Trick Or Treat

A Poem by DEAN FARNELL

Halloween your back again
The kids have filled the streets
Scary masks each way you turn
With buckets crammed with sweets

The only night, just once a year
Where horror fills the air
Heart's on edge of what's ahead
With screaming everywhere

Acts of playground horror
Dressed In their grim disguise
Watch your back, or face attack
With plastic knives and scythe's

I see a mass of Pumpkins
Shame orange doesn't rhyme
You look so odd, you taste so bad
I still want to make you mine

Nothing tops old Halloween
So glad again we meet
I'm ready for those treasured words
Hey mister "trick or treat"
