The Night I Found A Body (based on a true event)A Poem by DEAN FARNELL
A body was there by the side of the road
It was laying In the mud I drove on by with guilt inside When my instincts took a thud I turned the car, my pulse pumped fast Blood pounding In my head I pulled up close I was not wrong Somebody lay there dead I phoned the police with shaking hand As my legs they went to jelly l could see my face all round the place In the papers and on the telly All was quiet, I'm all alone With this body In the gutter I jumped a mile when It gave a smile It was just a drunken nutter
