The Scariest Song

The Scariest Song

A Poem by DEAN FARNELL

My mates are all laughing at the window,
All the girls are all rolling round on the floor,
They have just caught me playing Michael Bolton,
I don't think I can face them anymore.

All my lifelong friends have suddenly disowned me,
Iv'e been stripped of my gothic gang pride,
The horror at the scene that they witnessed,
Has churned all their stomachs deep inside.

They said my gothic records were a cover,
And my thrashy punk music was not me,
Iv'e been banned from every halloween party,
How I wish I never played that CD.

I never will forget Michael Bolton,
Little did I know when I did play,
How Am I supposed to live without you,
Would scare so many people all away.
