My Halloween Witch

My Halloween Witch

A Poem by DEAN FARNELL

October has turned 31,
It's disco time tonight,
Halloween I wish you'd fall
Every single night.

Costumes made for shocking,
Look like the real thing,
I head down to the disco-tech,
To hear old Boris sing.

The girls are dressed as Witches,
I saw them in the distance,
Some did not dress up at all,
And I couldn't tell the difference.

The disco blasted spooky songs,
Those tunes will never die,
My fangs have widened tenfold,
When I caught a Witches eye.

She headed straight towards me,
She waved her money tin,
I thought I'd pulled a cracker,
Till she gave a little grin.

She offered me some sweeties,
She wants to meet again,
My Witch gave me a cheeky smile,
But I think we'll just stay friends.

I had a ball this Halloween,
With tricks and candy canes,
Where everybody looked their worst,
It made a pleasant change.

I left just after midnight,
With pictures filled with horror,
The Witch I met turned out OK.
And I'm seeing her tomorra.
