Ex Skeptic

Ex Skeptic

A Poem by DEAN FARNELL

The Cat on the chair is staring,
He sensed something in the air,
He's seen something odd that I can't,
I wish he could tell me what's there.
The ears on the dog have just risen,
As he looked up the staircase this evening,
Skeptic as always I'm doubting,
Tonight I've just started believing.
The dog has just weed on the carpet,
His fear has caused him to whimper,
The cat has rushed out the cat flap,
On the coldest night of the winter.
I'm sat here alone with a spirit,
It knows my senses are weak,
I'd give all I have in the world,
To get my dog to speak.
A presence is here this evening,
That I cannot possibly sense,
I think I will just start believing
After tonight's events.
