The Gravediggers Sins

The Gravediggers Sins

A Poem by DEAN FARNELL

My house overlooks a graveyard,
The action is at it's peak,
The gravediggers on a mission,
He's been gone at least a week.

He quietly walks up to a plot,
Alone and armed with spade,
A new neighbour has arrived,
As he digs a brand new grave.

Life goes on around him,
The scent of flowers and grass,
The gravediggers shift was lonely,
As I watched the hours pass.

Then he starts to scoff a sandwich,
I was shocked and in dismay,
His head stuck in a girlie mag,
But to him another day.
