Rest In Peace

Rest In Peace

A Poem by DEAN FARNELL

Mowing the grass in the cemetery,
He weaves In and out of the stones,
Resting in peace, the dead have awoken,
The gardener can't hear their groans.

Just like a hoover that spoils your snooze,
From the woman who lives next door,
There is no quiet wherever you are,
Nowhere Is peaceful no more.

They toss and turn in their coffins,
As the mower thumps on the marble,
The echoes of life up above them,
Sounds like a muffled distant garble,

Please Mr gardener give us a break,
We're sleeping here you know,
Have some respect for us who rest,
And find a new place to mow.
