Thin Blue Line

Thin Blue Line

A Poem by D Connolly
"

A positive pregnancy test, then a period.

"
For 10 whole hours I knew your name
Then you were gone
As quick as you came

ahahahahaha poignant my friend ... and just like that ... a forgotten mist .. Dale Carnegie wrote one must repeat and name just learned at least 10 times during the introduction conversation ... and even then its about 50/50 we will remember the next time a meeting occurs .. i like this one a lot ... could be a thousand different scenes and characters but the foundation is solid and easy to build on .. music and dance to you today ma'am!

ps. just read Barley Girl's review and checked your description ... that was quite the 10 hr roller coaster eh!? .. tho that was the inspiration .. i stand by my remarks .. could be so many things .. ;)

Love it! had to read it twice! It's amazing how people can come and go so fast that you wonder if they were ever there at all!

WOW! As a woman spayed at age 20, I missed all these little nuances of being a woman. I forget women get pregnant & feel a connection from the first moment of knowing that they are. You've put it so simply here, it's stunning to be slapped with the idea that this little life had a name & was considered a person for those ten hours. But I didn't read the "pregnancy" blurb before I read the poem, so I was also reading this as being the way it can be in today's world, when online friendships can come like a flash in the night, then disappear (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Love 'em and leave 'em, so the old saying goes. I get the impression you were loved and left.

wow, this leaves so much between the lines...love it.

references to the subject of the poem could be endless.
and was this dream an actual reality for some hours...or always just a dream.
now i wonder if the speaker remembers the name...or that is gone also.
