Walking through the forests of Germany on a march with my dad, which we did often, I took a plum from a tree, just as described, and I remember that sweetness so well, 30+ years later. The sweetest part of the memory is being on my dad's shoulders and just being with him.

'Shoulders of the World'
D.Connolly,
High on the shoulders of your Daddy..what else could a little girl need?
The feeling is, "I am loved, I am wanted, needed and cherished.'
The sweetness of belonging and finding it delicious is matched by the
treat of a plumb while on the 'shoulders of the world' Your world.
Blessings,
Kathy

The only thing that I remember was riding on his shoulders and eating that plum, still the sweetest, most delicious fruit I can remember, and one of the best memories. I think that memories can be like that; we might not remember the details, but we remember the feelings that came with the experience.
Hi. As others have said, this is lovely, and you are lucky - as you acknowledge. The 'riding high' line is perfect to describe the young you safe and secure in a special place with a special person.

thank-you! I'm so glad to start my day off making you smile :)
Oh yes....sitting on Daddy's shoulders was the best feeling. I remember so well. He was my hero and I was on top of the world. What a sweet memory you have written about here. Lovely. Lydi**
I absolutely LOVE the way some distant memory can pop from our deep psyche with so much vivid detail. You've conveyed a little splash of memory here that doesn't tell a story exactly, but there are so many things that can be read into this, to understand the relationship between the two of you. I love the way you use "plum" and "sweetness" to represent the feelings as well as the taste. Excellent job!

Moments spent with our loved ones are always etched in the canvas of our memory.
What a wonderful title to honor the ride.
A girls first love and hero will always be her father.
