Holding On Thru the New Year...A Poem by DC GentlemanFeel My Pain..
Together since conception
Taken for granted Never considered you as a blessing They called you “good” Hated on So different from everyone else in the hood I never took care of you Like mama said I should She had you twisted Trapped into her vision Changing up your style was forbidden They say wisdom changed your hue Or maybe it was just the years Perhaps the tears Stress of life Turning you a grayish white High times of the 90’s Contrasting sharply With the mellowed style You have today Hard to see you now Fading away I'm not ready to remove you from my life Revealing More than I want to show But clearly you've already began letting go As we begin the New Year Someone out there Feel my pain And pass some Rogaine I’m not ready to lose my hair.. ha ha ha... © 2009 DC Gentleman |
