Somethin' Ain't RightA Poem by DC Gentleman
New Orleans thru
Mississippi
Still look torn
Folks can’t return
To places they were born
FEMA money been burned
One thing we've learned
They are clearly not colorblind
Ignoring talks of race
Its green they continually chase
Somethin ain’t right
Politicians
Printing made up dollars
Breathing more death
Into a recession
Millions unemployed
More than
The Great Depression
So what should we call these times?
Society is stressing
Check those numbers for suicide
The Chocolate City is being gentrified
Why…
Is Obama is being vilified?
There is no economic plan
To erase trillion dollar debt
How bad will things get?
Talking heads have much advice
About what’s not right
They don’t want
The President’s job though
Silence
You political puppets
Political pundits
Go play hop scotch thru land mines
Sick of Fox News poison
CNN cyanide
The Bentley pushers
Are getting bail out money
We tryin’ to deal
With rising bus fare
While our kids are still hungry
Somethin ain’t right
When you can embezzle
Billions
Never seeing the inside of a cell
Vick financed dog fighting
They tried to put him
Under the jail
How can we ever prevail?
Overcome
The hidden hate
Revealed
Thru police dashboard cameras
Just say it to my face
No wonder we don’t feel safe
I love this place
America the beautiful.
