This is lovely! I love the breaks, the way this breathes through, lives within, these memories of childhood love and promises from long ago... promises made and never meant to be kept. Bittersweet and poignant.
This is such a fantastic piece with so much imagery that is just impossibly moving.
For me
You live
in the barn amidst
Hay fort fears
Born sparks alit
This was my absolute favorite part of the piece. The colors, the textures, the emotial impact of these lines...totally blew me away.
The larger metaphor of this piece is also not lost in the beauty of the words. Sometimes destiny has a way of not quite connecting the threads, and we just fly alongside one another never truly touching. The idea of the Asymptote is such a creative way to explain what you have written in these lines.

That's one of my favorite stanzas as well. As kids (our neighborhood gang) we used to sneak into the neighbors bar and build forts out of the hay bales. One day there was an electric spark from the old wiring. We hightailed it out of there but had to alert the neighbor so he knew we had been trespassing all those years. I think we had to clean out stalls as penance. :)
This was written for one of my oldest childhood friends. I thought the title fit... so close yet so far away.
Its like so close but not to be..A admiration..a relationship wanted but not granted by circumstance or choice. Nice form, smoothe readin, enjoy your brilliantly creative talent :)
Well the title took me to some horrifying memories (lim x/253346x^21344 and so on....) anyway that imaginative curve can symbolize the meeting between two loved ones, a break up or even an up going to the right direction, well done
