UnembodiedA Poem by DCIt is a love story between a mortal and the incorporeal.Unembodied They
call it, Romance; My
romance is detached, and limp like numbness. I
hear them call it, Love " I
do not seek to be in love, unfettered by it. You
just keep on saying; it’s like the essential breath of life. I
have not perceived this. In perdition, like it there is naught. In
the twinkling of an eye, you run off, The
past of my presence asks this of you Are
you not the one, my love?
They
cry out, they shriek, you call out, exclaiming; Like
the nightmares slashing out of shredded sleep, Like
the births conceived without incarnation, Like
the blood, sap of life, like the addiction, craved " I
think, girl " If
you are Love come to life, then The
expectations, why will I not set them free? Are
you an incorporeal sprite, free from this earth? I
just listen to the pounding beat of the drums that my heart is.
Nothing
has changed for countless days, I
and my tantalizing temptress" We
hear the poetry of transcendence!
