SIZZLE

SIZZLE

A Poem by DBURKE

His arms flexed

His breastplate tensed up

Veins popped out and disappeared

Sweat fell from his brow

He made faces a woman could lust for

As he pushed up and down

No more teasing that little wimp

Puny little joke of a man

Slinky, skinny, sorrowful dude

Laugh at the little person

Who got punked every minute on the hour

Couldn’t even save his girlfriend from rape

The thoughts increased his drive

I'm not so small now am I?

I'm not a little punk now am I?

IM NOT THE GUY TO TRY ANYMORE

He screamed out as he pushed up and down

Iron backing down to the man's power

CLANK

He sets his weights

Sat up and grabbed his towel

His body swollen, ripped, Masculine, and delectable

Especially to the woman spectators

Squeezing their thighs together drooling

Hey it's nice to see "the gym" from a female perspective...LOL! I love the "spectators." Funny how the first paragraph sounds like sex then it becomes clearer. The boy/man was driven to become a protector, and his power WILL be respected. Very clever, slipping in the powerful line about his sister.

Wow, this poem has a powerful meaning to it. Not just that he is now handsome, but that he can now be a protector, a fighter. Not the person that is going to be pushed around by some bully. Great job on this poem. the line that caught my attention was couldn't even save his girlfriend from rape. Perhaps that is what prompted this man to become more than what he was. That line is strong and powerful.

when I was a boy, the comic books had one pages ads showing a skinny guy on the beach with his girl friend, and along come a couple of big guys who kick sand in his face and he can't do nothing about it...for the next few drawings, our skinny guy is pumping iron, and then he's back on the beach with his girl and along come our two bullies, and this time theys the one gets the a*s kickin'...don't this sound kind of familiar...you know, the stuff on the evening news...

Its always fun to watch a man work out...esspecially if they're hot! ;) Another great piece from you! It had a sad undertone to it...I love how you gave a slight backstory to the character to make him have more depth!
