SILENCEA Poem by DBURKE
Bruised eyes hidden behind dark glass
Busted veins that will heal as time pass Swollen lips with muffled words Horrifying screams that nobody heard Missing teeth scattered the floor Blood from last week stains the door Scratching his back “just leave me alone” Blood in my panties, my dignity’s gone Patches of hair, left in the hairbrush White bandages where my ribs are crushed I can not tell I don’t have the will If he is caught, it's me he'd kill Sweet unborn child in my body rest Someone to protect me, I’m truly blessed He cares for you, you unborn life Because of you, he calls me wife Still there is occasional slaps in the face I walk with my head down I have lost face He touches me, only loving you He says he hope your eyes are blue His hands on my stomach every day Loving you baby in every way His hands on my stomach every day Revenge for me is in your DNA © 2010 DBURKEReviews
