DEAR LIFEA Poem by DBURKE
Dear life
I appreciate the beauty That my eyes can see But my question is why do you insist on trying to torture me? I appreciate the sun rise I appreciate the sunsets I cannot understand the rain Because I'm always drenched and wet I appreciate the flowers And the clouds that make me wonder I love the ocean Except for the waves that takes me under I love the birds chirp And glasses clanking to celebratory cheers I love to watch people smile As I wipe away my tears I love to see innocent babies I love the wisdom of my elders Yet when I celebrate life I get lost in deaths cellar If you haven't learned yet I'm stronger than you think No matter how big the waves I refuse to sink Instead of showing tears I decided to smile It was fake at first But joy made it real after a while While I mourn death Its not the end I'm wrapped up in the grace That My God sends He tells me to trust him While a new me he creates In order to perfect me And show the world he is great God makes it possible For you to tell your story Because when they see the outcome My Lord gets all the glory My message is simple A new you he will make All that flexing and bending He won't let you break My message is simple A new you he will make All that flexing and bending He won't let you break © 2015 DBURKE |
