Masks and coversA Poem by Darqu3ss3This is a freestyle poemSomewhere hidden in a forest, A fairhaired girl sits on her window sill, Watching clouds pass by. She's a cheerful type, always smiling, always laughing she's a shining light in this dark world , but don't you know? You should never judge a book by its cover. She hides behind a broken mask, as that artificial light she shines, fooling all those around her. She's smiling outside yet inside she's crying, she's trying to hold on to frayed sanity, As she pretends everything is ok. She pretends that her wrists aren't stained red, that she's actually happy, believing she isn't the disaster her family says she is. but sometimes The Mask has to come off and when that happens, and there's nobody around to catch her, That heart of hers will no longer be able to be stitched up
