Fire and Ice

Fire and Ice

A Poem by D.Truelove

Some seek sparks or fireworks
or see it only as a game
a kiss to set the world ablaze
and tongues that lick like flame
play with fire and your bound to get burned
and they have no one to blame

Some seek to have a heart of ice
because in reality they fear
Those who have been hurt before
and now will suffer no one near
how cold the life, who will cry
for one who held nothing dear

I see it as a balance
and there's nothing I'd want instead
remember all things in moderation
before your pitter-patter heart be led
embrace the warmth of smoldering flame
while thinking with a cool head

i enjoyed these words, this is one amazing write here.
I like the words and the meaning. It's kind of sad in a way.
