A Poem by D. Gabrielle Jensen

Touch pencil to paper.
Lift again and look away.
Each day the same.
Each day harder to find
The words
To fill the blank space.
Pencil to paper.
Struggling to get it out.
The noise inside
Deafening,
Echoing,
A painful din against the noise
Of the world.
All inside
Begging to be freed.
Hasn't someone already
Written these words?
Haven't I already
Written these words?
Pleading to Calliope
And her sisters,
To whoever may be willing
Help this struggling artist
Put pencil to paper
Release the noise inside.

this is a lovely poem, about writers block? and more than that, it touches on the reasons why we write poetry, to "release the noise inside"
