Swagger Dagger

Swagger Dagger

A Poem by D
"

I feel like a god more often than is necessary.

"

Sonny, play.
That’s all I gotta say.
I move in every direction,
straddle all lines with
technicolor limbs set
with universal tendons.
Friction ain’t nothing in
the drink and two-step
of desperate measures -
so tag, you’re it, let’s set it
down in the stratosphere.
I’ll pull a real Judas job for
the glory of all that is holy,
‘cept these words are blood.

With all due reverence,
thanks to the mortal men
who made it possible for
the spats of silence where
I can flex and diss and lay
blows as thick as ether.
And excuse the rowdy mob
come to see it all end;
they ain’t never seen
an imaginary fight that is
fought with all abandon.
